Jerry Croan, LCSW (Croan Counseling): Jerry’s passion for counseling developed out of a profound experience he had during the desegregation of America. As a college student, he was the first of a small group of African Americans that were escorted on campus at Belmont Abbey College in North Carolina in 1968. Out of the group of 8 African American students that started college at this time, he was the only one to graduate. After this experience he wanted to understand what makes people “tick”, what they are thinking, and why they are thinking that way. Applying these principles to his studies, he received his degree in psychology and delights in helping others get their lives and health back in order. His areas of expertise are: Anxiety, Depression, and PTSD.
